I’m (finally) building a car!
My friend Steven and I finally got started building a couple of cars from scratch. We’re building Lotus 7 inspired cars. There are a surprising number of folks building these cars. They are typically called Locosts, from the book Build Your Own Sports Car for as Little as 250 Pounds.
We’ve only worked on them for one day so far, but made quite a bit of progress. Mine is going to be powered by a mild Chevy 350 (Colin Chapman is spinning in his grave right now(”To go fast, add lightness)), and Steve’s is probably going to be powered by an Opel engine.

Dorri,
Glad you’ve seen the light! I run Radio Se7en, (http://www.radiose7en.com/) for all things relating to Seven-type vehicles, so you might find some useful information over there. I’ve posted a link to your site.
Good luck with the build.

Hi guys
I’ve just started building mine! At the moment it is a small pile of steel tubing, cut to length on my bench.
I’d like to put a Cosworth engine in mine. Wish me luck!
Will send photos if you are intersted. Happy building!!!
