Well, I finally got around to doing some testing on my wife’s Audi.
If you recall, I recently replaced the (well worn) turbocharger on it, and amazingly enough, I had the foresight to take 0-60 mph measurements both before and after.
New, the car would do 0-60 in 8.1 seconds.
With the worn out turbo, the car took 13.9 (!) seconds to reach 60 mph.
With the replacement, the car does it in 7.1 seconds. That’s faster than new and it has over 200,000 miles on it.
For $240 for the turbo, that’s just about the best bang-for-the-buck I’ve ever seen.
