    Enough with the hatred.

    Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

It seems that this is your first visit. Would you like to subscribe? Enjoy your visit! I wish all the hate toward Exxon-Mobil (for their rather large profits) would stop. If the CEO of that company didn’t try to do all he could to increase profits, the board of directors would fire […]

First Smart Car sighting around here

    Sunday, April 20th, 2008

Yesterday I saw the first Smart Car in this area.  I spoke a bit with the owner and he seemed genuinely happy with it.  He’s had it since February and has put around 1200 miles with it.  He said the gas mileage was great, but he wished for a bit more space inside.

    Motorcycle thoughts

    Monday, March 24th, 2008

So with gas prices what they are, I’ve been trying to minimize the miles driven in my BMW (at 17 mpg).
My bike, a 1982 Yamaha 650 Maxim, gets about 45 mpg, but it’s old and ugly.

My thoughts on Ecotrekker’s Ultimate guide to hypermiling

    Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

Hypermiling - The act of extracting every possible mile from each gallon of gasoline.
Ecotrekker put together a 100 point post to help you in your quest to wring the most from your fuel tank.  While this list is pretty good overall, I feel the need to point out some problems.

If gasoline were sold like beer

    Friday, October 12th, 2007

Do you really know how much gas you use? Sure, you look at the pump occasionally when you fill up and see that you put 16 gallons in, but do you ever really think about how much that is?
You would if gas were sold like beer, in 12 ounce cans.
    In my 1991 BMW 750iL, […]
